Bryan Cranston- Takes us back to school but you've never had a history lesson like this!
Devona Takes History Notes in the Control Room
"When I heard I'd be recording Bryan Cranston for a narration of a new history show, All I could imagine was "Walter White" stating in class giving a Chemistry lecture while scheming up his next plan to become HEISENBURG. What a fantastic and talented actor! What a velvety yet powerful voice.  I learned that Bryan is quite a history buff himself, another passion of his. A perfect match for this awesome new show!"

THATS ME! THATS ME!
"Working on this film was both a challenge and a pleasure. Coincidentally the 2nd Nina Simone inspired musical feature I've worked on during my production sound career and second starring Mini Driver. It's always interesting to see the final edits come to life on screen because on set, you are kind of learning the story piece by piece with lots of snacks from craft services in between lol.

My favorite onset craft is the playback operator. Basically, setting up your Protools rig, and session, editing the click track and stems, then cueing up the music for the next musical scene. In this case: an onstage music awards performance scene. We work hand in hand with the mixers, and in this case, projectionists (who were broadcasting a live video feed to the backdrop screens) and performers to ensure the scene stays in sync musically and visually. "
I LOVED THE MOVIE!

I can't say I love zombies but recording them is so much fun! DYING LIGHT Video Game for Xbox & Playstation.
First MOCAP Credit
"So, I got to do a little something different for this Video Game: FACIAL MOTION CAPTURE! If you have every wondered how all of the in-game characters have such realistic facial expressions here's why! It's a really cool and unique process for both me and the actors. As VO artists you focus on your vocal inflections instead of your facial movements and animation, but when it comes to mocap everything changes for a VO artist. Without becoming too animated in the body, they still have to deliver a great vocal performance while being aware of their facial movements without looking down at the script AND with a helmet on and camera directly in their line of sight. All this after I apply their temporary chicken pocks. It's great to see all this work come alive in the game!!! It's really amazing actually!

Angriest Man in Brooklyn

He's Not That Angry :)
Devona recently completed work on "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn"
starring Robin Williams, Mila Kunis, Melissa Leo, Peter Dinklage, and Hamish Linklater.

"Its amazingly odd that some parts of downtown LA, can appear to look and sound so much like New York. I thought the sound would prove to be an issue for the on set mixer with the constant ambulance and helicopters...but we shot around it and when it couldn't be helped, I guess it added the right ambiance.

This was my first time booming a wide shot in a large feature and Robin was kind enough to shout for an apple box when he saw me trying to grow 3 more inches to stay out of the shot.

Both Mila and Robin were awesome and I can't wait to see the film. Lionsgate scooped it up so I don't think they'll waste any time getting it up on the big screen!!" -Devona
